Two people were injured late Friday, May 18, when their vehicle went off Highway 79 and down the hillside between Beaumont and Gilman Hot Springs, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 11:30 p.m. north of Lamb Canyon Landfill. A witness told the California Highway Patrol that someone was ejected from the vehicle, which went 50-70 feet off the road.
The road was closed for a time while a helicopter ambulance landed. A person with moderate injuries was flown to a hospital and a person with minor injuries was driven to a hospital, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
There were no other vehicles reported to be involved.
A tow truck was called about 10 a.m. Saturday to remove the vehicle, the CHP website said.
