US to impose sanctions on Russia over Salisbury nerve agent attack

The US State Department is imposing sanctions on Russia after determining Moscow used a nerve agent to attack two people in the UK in March. The United States expelled a number of Russian diplomats as part of an international response to the attack, when former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter fell ill after exposure to the nerve agent. Mr Skripal and his daughter Yulia were in intensive care for several weeks.
