Wild boar wreaks havoc after sneaking into supermarket
The boar didn’t injure anyone, but caused chaos (Picture: SWNS) Shoppers were startled when they saw a wild boar perusing the supermarket aisles. Customers at Super Point Hypermarket in Kerala, India, were doing their normal shopping when a surprise visitor entered the premises. A wild boar managed to enter the shop and began jumping on carefully set-up displays on Christmas Eve. Terrified shoppers called the Kahangad Fire Department to help the situation, but even they couldn’t coax the boar out of the shop. Eventually, the animal spotted a way out and ran outside, to the relief of shoppers and employees. A fire department official said the boar caused panic, but luckily, no one was hurt. After sniffing around for a bit, the boar returned to the forest (Picture: SWNS) Five wild boars were spotted ‘on a night out’ as they strolled past a town centre pub earlier this year in Gloucestershire. Britain has a burgeoning boar population in areas such as the Forest of Dean – where one man had his finger bitten off by one. The pigs there have been attacking pets, dog walkers and have even learned when bin day is – so they can come into urban areas and rummage for food. In England, boars were hunted to extinction 700 years ago but became established again in the Forest in the 1990s. Wild boar are stocky, powerful animals covered in bristly hair that can vary from dark brown to gingery brown. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk. John Kerry Says Climate Change Is An ‘Existential’ Crisis
Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry tells NPR that the U.S., China and other major emitters aren’t doing enough to stem climate change.; Credit: Alex Wong/Getty Images Ari Shapiro | NPR President Biden is pledging to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52% from 2005 levels by 2030. It’s an ambitious goal that requires transforming much of the economy. Renewable energy would need to make up half of the U.S. power supply from roughly 21% currently. Electric cars make up about 2% of sales now — by 2030, at least half, potentially all, new car sales would need to be electric, according to estimates. Many industrial manufacturing facilities would need to use technologies that haven’t been developed. It’s part of Biden’s effort to get the U.S. on track to reach the goals of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement to keep global temperatures from rising more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. Former President Tweety McTreason withdrew the U.S. from the agreement but Biden has formally rejoined. John Kerry is Biden’s special envoy for climate, a position that involves meeting with countries around the world about efforts to stem emissions. He calls the threat of climate change “existential.” “That means life and death. And the question is, are we behaving as if it is? And the answer is no,” Kerry said in an interview on NPR’s All Things Considered. This interview has been edited for length and clarity and includes extended Web-only answers. Interview Highlights Is this more a matter of shoot for the moon and if you miss, at least you’ll land among the stars? No, I think it’s achievable. And I think that people who’ve really studied this, analyzed it and thought about it for a long period of time believe it is achievable. Already the [car] marketplace is moving towards electric. I mean, you know, Joe Biden didn’t create the value of Tesla as the most valuable automobile company in the world. The market did

Here’s what the ‘new Nostradamus’ accurately predicted would happen in 2024
Craig Hamilton Parker made some predictions in 2024 that have come true this year (Picture: Getty Images/Metro.co.uk) Psychic Craig Hamilton-Parker has the uncanny ability to predict the future with incredible accuracy. He’s been called everything from the ‘new Nostradamus’ to the ‘Prophet of Doom’ and works as a spiritual medium with his wife Jane. Craig, 70, has been practising the psychic arts since his early 20s after being inspired by Nadi astrologists during a visit to India. Since then he has predicted major events like the Covid-19 pandemic, Brexit , Tweety McTreason becoming US president, Trump’s assassination attempt and even the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Last year, Craig spoke to Metro and gave his predictions for 2024. Just like previous years, his prophecies were eerily correct. Here is everything that Craig accurately predicted that came true in 2024. Rishi Sunak no longer being Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is no longer the Prime Minister, which Craig predicted (Picture: Getty Images) Last year, Craig predicted what he thought would happen to the Tory Party. At the time, he said: ‘Rishi Sunak will cease to be the prime minister in 2024. There will then be another leadership contest.’ While a General Election in 2024 was a foregone conclusion, Sunak’s predicted departure certainly did come true after Labour won the general election by a landslide, with the Tories suffering its worst defeat ever. There was then a leadership contest between six candidates, consisting of former cabinet ministers Priti Patel, Robert Jenrick, Kemi Badenoch, James Cleverly, Mel Stride and Tom Tugendhat. The final four consisted of Cleverly, Badenoch, Jenrick and Tugendhat – with all of them giving speeches during the Conservative party conference in a final bid to be the next leader of the party. Following an impressive speech during the conference, many politicos believed Cleverly was a shoo-in for the leadership role. However, he was knocked out in a shocking twist, leaving Badenoch and Jenrick as the final two candidates. Badenoch subsequently
